This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to develop and manage a dam safety inspection plan.

It includes developing operational procedures, reviewing status of inspection plans, consulting with personnel and stakeholders, developing inspection checklists and gathering historical dam construction maintenance information. It also includes adhering to relevant legislation, industry standards and workplace procedures.

This unit applies to those working as leaders with responsibility for developing and reviewing of dam safety and monitoring. Those undertaking this unit would work autonomously, leading staff, while performing sophisticated tasks in a range of familiar contexts.
